I bought a set of Yamaha suspension wheels and they changed part numbers from8CR-47310-10-00 to 8CR-4731A-00-00 which I didn't think any thing of. I got them today and realized that the inner diameter is different and they dont work with the old flange/spacers that insert into the old wheels...
I'm in the same the same boat as you. The Sidewinder is sexy as hell but out of my league financially. I have a 2012 Apex and love riding it, I rode a friends boosted Viper last winter and to be honest I am not sure that I liked it all that much so that definitely is kryptonite for me that...
In the past I bought my YZ's across the border. The price ended up being favorable and you ended up not paying any tax when it was all said and done because it was classified as a personal import or something like that. It might be a good deal again now that the exchange rate has gone back in...
I am curious as to why we see the movement to more and more folks wearing MX style helmets vs full face or modular? I'm a long time motocross racer that just got back into the sled scene last winter and I don't see any advantage to an mx helmet with goggles over a good full face or modular.
Thanks for the input :)
On a strange related note I was just looking at the parts schematic on a couple different Yamaha parts websites and I can't even find either part of the collar?
My friend you are looking for the unicorn of sleds :) If you truly want what you have listed you will have to go 2 stroke and the best modern version of what you are looking for would be a 600 fan cooled carbed Ski-Doo. Otherwise if you really want a Yamaha you will have to cross most of those...
WR450 nannies have nothing to do with the backfire screen. It is obviously totally up to you what you do with your sled but there are a lot of impressionable folks out there that might think they are going to get some great power gain by taking it off and finding themselves very unhappy later.
I'm interested in this post. I am putting on the same set up only the powermadd versions. I was looking at my sled the other day and wondering about the collar and whether or not it would still go on. I received my adjustable riser but am waiting on the pivot/adapter. I'll report back as soon as...
I've seen a similar debate for years regarding the backfire screen in 4 stroke mx bikes. Some say it robs power but many experts say it doesn't. Personally I see nothing wrong with the filter set up for the average guy. I have to believe that Yamaha thinks it is the right thing to do to put that...
