All the suggestions are great, the basics are like said above. soften ski shocks, tighten bills spring up some more and loosen the rear skid shock some. Set your skis to the narrow setting and pull the sway bar to help with side hilling.
Also spend some time watching some youtube videos from...
got out made it 5km before i wore through the brake line (my bad for not pushing it far enough out of the way) and these little pesky grounds coming loose and frigging up my day. They are now soldered and taped, not coming loose agin. Little guy was pissed haha
I usually run no snow flap anymore unless i am 2up with the kid on the trail. I have had to replace the clutch buttons twice now, once when i bought and again last year. I think it is the reverse helix maybe?
I have considered going to the 270 kit but i have also considered going to the dark...
Well we had a crap season last year with super low snow, managed to get out a few times but never in any proper snow. only put on 500kms total last season, so hoping this season we can get more snow or i guess i will be driving to the good stuff.
haha welcome to the turbo 15 mtx gang!! glad to see your still wrenching. we are only getting our first dump of snow today. but i am headed into work for a few days so i will miss the best riding
Arctic Cat does sell a 38" kit with the upper and spindle, i installed it on my 15 mtx to make it a 38" wide front end but with the newer spindles. I think though if you were to buy a lower a arm off of a 15 mtx it would bolt on and give you the 38" front end. If you were on this side of the...
to turn a 153 into a trail machine you need (i know you already have some of these)
trail front end 40 or 42" with sway bar
xtx gearing 21/49
clutching
smaller track
extra idler wheels (look at the 14 m8000 part diagram for them)
dupont sliders
then you will want to do some suspension changes...
I am still on the fence with the front end. I did the 38" kit and i think maybe i should have done the 36? Carsons 36 still handles a little better off trail then the 38 kit. But it could totally be suspension settings.
other then that, no i really like everything i did. I think for next...
I'm worried i changed too much stuff at once, it should be a completely different sled. The Dzus fasteners held up great, but to be honest i usually do 85% of riding with the flap off. But i haven't ran into any issues with them freezing up yet, so far so good?
Well since Snowbound98 is doing it, I guess i should too! haha
So a little history, I am professional superbike racer in Canada. So naturally I can't leave anything alone, and this is something I do in my spare time.
My sled addiction all started on a 04 RX1 mtn, bought it completely stock...
It has been done a lot of times. I don't think there is a kit to buy. But you maybe able to find someone who did it and ask. I was also considering it.
