Just wondering if the new Vipers 2020 and up have similar problems in the driveline as the sidewinders? Chaincase gear bushings and tensioner, driveshaft bearing, noisy primary clutch etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I too fit in to the category of old guys on sleds with 47 years of driving under my belt but not a winder as of yet. Do have a 2020 Red GT booked and really want to go for it, but a bit nervous it will do the things I still want to do on a sled, plus some of the long standing reliability issues...

Do you guys think Yamaha/Cat have the chaincase issues solved for 2020? Would love to get a new Winder GT but bit scared of the dreaded tow home from that issue or tunnel coolant hose fracture.

I have a chance to pick up a 19 Winder XTX 141 Le that comes stock with the qsr adjustable shocks and 1.75 Backcountry track. Just wondering if the track is too much for the 50% trail driving I do and how the suspension would be in a roughed up late in the day trail?

Can you guys that have driven both and been into Winders for awhile advise what are the differences in rear suspension on the RTX and LTX . Just the SE models. Ride comfort, transfer, steering issues etc. The bridging bump part I get. How is ride compared to rmotion?

Thanks Brian for the information. I was going to try a winder but 15 miles difference in fuel range is quite a bit. I know the SRX sits lower but Also notice difference in how they sit in the snow. Slower woods non grommed trails would work in the 90oT favour as it looks like it carries better.

Thinking of trying a new 2016 viper and need help from you guys that have them whether or not a purchase should be considered? Love the look of the white/red XTX but will need windshield change and bit scared of those Fox air shocks. Another model is STX dx 137 or maybe the tanker model 146...
