I have an older Top Cap snowmobile trailer enclosure. It is constructed of fiberglass and is two pieces bolted together down the center from front to back. From the manufacturer there was a 2-inch wide rubber or vinyl strip that covered the seam where the two halves were bolted together. The...
I am on the LTX, but here is what I did with great success:
Pull up limiter two holes. Loosen front shock in skid so it has preload only. Front Fox shocks at 75PSI.
Now the key...7.5" Snowtracker carbides on stock skis.
Handling now is WOW. On rails with flat hard trails and...
Can anyone here confirm that 2014 Cat carbides are a direct bolt-on to the Viper? Having trouble finding a what I want with a Viper part number...but the Cat version is readily available.
I have 1000 miles on my LTX SE. I hopped off of it and rode my 2006 Apex RTX (with 13,000 miles on it) yesterday. If I had to give one of the sleds up I am not sure which would go.
My Viper is very snappy at moderate trail speeds. I find it to be a pooch from 60 up and in loose snow...
Rivets are 3/16. Definitely replace them to hold up bracketry inside tunnel. I used a drill bit extension and was able to drill straight down through the openings. Of course, I did have to remove the seat. This was on an LTX...not sure if the same story on a standard.
Yamaha tech is aware of, and acknowledges the problem. I dropped my sled back to the dealer on Monday after putting 350 miles on it. Initially Yamaha tech told my dealer they had not heard of the problem, but got back to him less than two hours later and told him what to look for. I have...
There is a coolant leak concern on the Vipers. Apparently the hose connections do not seal is colder conditions. My Viper dripped coolant every morning but seemed to stop leaking when the engine was at operating temperature. In 350 miles I lost about 10 ounces of coolant. Other Viper owners...
Real world...350 miles on the sled at the end of last week. 4" stock carbides are not adequate in my opinion on my unstudied LTX. I will be stepping up to at least 6", possibly the snow trackers. Will also be sucking the limiter strap up one position.
I am moving closer every day to pulling the trigger on a Viper. I currently ride a 2006 Apex and my wife rides a 2006 Attak. In that chassis, I far prefer the extra track length of the Attak.
But I am having a tough time determining whether the standard 129 or the LTX at 137 is the way to...
