I have been riding a 2010 RS Vector for ten years. Looking to switch to a viper or winder. I noticed that there are no heat exchangers in the tunnel and the cooling is via a radiator. How well does it work. I am guessing hard pack trails would no longer be an issue.
I have been running iridium spark plugs in my RS for the last 7 years for a total of around 6000km. I have no issues but I have the sled in the garage and I was thinking about changing the plugs. Is it value added or a waste of time.
Update, I still plan to replace all 3 relays but I changed the power control relay (closet to tunnel , Left foot) and everything is working as it should now.
As I previously mentioned I noticed that my fuel pump would run with key off and kill switch up in run position. I am not entirely...
I will replace power control and see if it persists. If it does I will replace. Either way I will update post. Hopefully it helps someone at some point.
I figured it out, I located the relay, In front of my left foot. Switched it with fan relay and everything worked. Switched it back and problem returned (always turn problems off and on to confirm you found root cause)
Big relief I hate electrical issues
On a side note, I have been having...
Sled runs but today I lost everything, got home it all worked again. Went back out to shop and again will start but nothing works.
Check fuses over fan and apart from heated sheild all is well.
I suspect bad ground or a bad power control relay.
Does anyone know where the grounding blocks are...
Initially I believed I had a failed battery in my RS. If so it would have been 3 Yuasa in three years. I charged with Noco until green and within a day the battery would be dead. I charged it with a second Noco with the same results. I was going to change the battery but decided to do a study...
Measured the battery over several days. I have a quick disconnect in the sled and the battery is disconnected from ground.
12.53 volts Friday at 11am
12.18 volts Sat at 11
12.15 v Sunday
12.14 v monday
Would not start Wed
I brought sled in and removed batter. I hooked up my Noco Genius 10 and...
I year old Yuasa keeps dropping voltage. I have a battery shut off switch and voltage drops from 12.5 to 12.18 overnight. It seems Yuasa are no longer reliable. Any alternatives brands that might provide more reliability?
PITA to replace. Very time consuming. Ten minutes on my wifes rev. 2...
I replaced a battery this year and found after a month it was dead. YUASA apparently are not like there once were. Any chance the battery is failing?
Will it start with a jump start pack?
I like my stuff disconnected when in the garage. #garagefire
My fathers garage burnt down due to a short in a vehicle...
At any rate here is what I ended up doing.
Bought a used negative lead. Ran a line up to a quick disconnect that I picked up on Amazon
Has anyone installed a quick disconnect? If so how did you do it? These batteries are hard to get at and I would like to be able to shut battery off when I am not using it.
Recently, the last 6 months, my RS is slowly draining the battery. about .2v per day. This was never an issue in the past something has changed. Anyone know where I should start? Relay? Hopefully not a stator issue:(
