basically all you are doing is making sure they all have the same vacuum. If you are going to keep the sled or work on any carb stuff then I would purchase a set. They hook to the nipples on the intake boots. The carbs adjust by phillips screws on the linkage inbetween 1-2, 23,3-4. So there are...

2003 RX-1ER no top end mid range stumble

Factory is 2 turns out, a lot of people run them at 2.5 . I myself run at 2.25 turns out. Make sure you sync carbs when done. Also make sure your pilot jets are clean, they are tiny 17.5 and plug easy. I keep a spare set clean at all times and change out any time I have the carbs off. Cleaned...

Yea 6000 is way low. Have you had the carbs off? There are screens under the needle/seat that can plug too. My guess carb related, make sure you sync them after you clean them.

2003 RX-1ER no top end mid range stumble

the back shift on the clutch is normal and some of them will whine too. There are some youtube videos you can see and hear it. Pull the rubber from the top of the coils and start it in the dark to see if spark is jumping in the cylinder. Some people have wrapped them in electrical tape or use...

2003 RX-1ER no top end mid range stumble

10200-10400 rpms, start with cleaning carbs. With only 1k miles and 17 years old it could be lots of things depending on where the sled was stored. Carbs, bearings froze, clutch, coils, plugs, etc...If in doubt clean the carbs twice. 03 coils were notorious for arching

    03 rx1 lean condition...?

agree with above. These tend to run lean from the get go but they don't seem to mind too much. Some people (me included) went with 137.5 mains, if you are running a stock airbox. I pull my plugs after several hours riding or at least normal operating temp and a long WOT run. Altitude plays a...

    What's an ECP kit worth?

Just want to know what an ECP kit is worth? Filters and prefilters, 165 mains, clean set of pilots, used cr10e, silver slide springs, and the small case filter. Just gathering all the old stuff out of the garage and may throw it up on the classifieds . Thanks

    05 RX-1 Died on trail

it won't blow fuses when the battery dies, basically just like a car it will run until there is not enough voltage to keep it running, your gauges quitting and it missing is a classic case of losing voltage. CDI controls everything and it needs voltage to run. You should get roughly 14v @5k rpm...

    05 RX-1 Died on trail

could still be other wiring as stated above too. I'm guessing if you charge the battery the sled will start then just figure out why it's not charging, fairly simple system.

    05 RX-1 Died on trail

Fully charge battery, check stator output. If the sled is not charging it's usually the stator or rectifier/regulator. There are some tests you can do on the stator also https://ty4stroke.com/threads/stator-resistance.76094/
