I’ve been running the 7” Sly Dog Powder Hounds since 2017 on my Vectors and they are by far the best ski I have tried. I’ve tried probably 6 different brands . I started with 6” shaper bars and have had Semi Aggressive Snow trackers on since 18. On the Vectors there is no hard steering very light .
Glad you figure out the Vibration. I run ski Doo wheels on my Vectors . Ski Doo and Polaris wheels are about 5mm larger in diameter. Only problem can be if you have a 136” track you might need to brace the rails . The larger wheels help greatly with the slider wear but do put more strain on the...
All great things to check . I would start by inspecting the belt and blowing out the clutches. Bad belt can sound like track noise . Then check your speedo bearing and grease . After greasing roll track around with the skid off the ground . Check all Boggie wheels for bad bearings make sure...
The Sly Dog 7” wide Powder Hound ski with Snow Trackers are the best ski I have used and I’ve tried many .
Excellent flotation. Excellent steering and tracking and the reverse Keel stops the plowing better than most . The ski is very flexible in the tip and I think this helps with bumps.
I did...
So in my experience. I had to remove seat . Remove donut clamps on flex pipes . I had the motor hung from a cumalong from my ceiling. Then I took out all the motor mounts . Remove bolts from steering rack in front of motor . Remove bracket that hold head light assembly. Then you can raise it...
This post was very helpful to me . Just Google the title and the link will come up . If possible don’t buy parts until you have cover off and parts inspected . Everyone told me to replace everything because you don’t want to do it again . Very true but you can waist a lot of money . But parts...
Well I have a winner . I had stripped the cap screw on the donut clamp on the last flex pipe . So I took a Dremel with a diamond wheel and cut the head of the cap screw off.
The clamp was holding the flex pipe together and when loose it basically fell apart. The local Yamaha dealer just...
Your install looks great good job . FYI you’re missing a cotter pin on your nut on the steering arm just above the pipes . I’m just glad this is my backup sled .
I'm pondering that right now. I really like the idea but watching his videos seems like you need to do it just perfect for it to seal.
Have you done this fix ??
I first want to be sure its the Flex pipes and not the pipe running down to the muffler.
Having never taken a flex pipe off . Is there a better way to crack those rusty bolts ?? Heat and lube I’m guessing. And NO impacts! Anyone have any awesome tips ?
I will plug the tail pipes again. I did it before tearing it down and kept right on running so I figured the donuts. I will plug it again and see where the exhaust spits out .
It sure sounds like right by the motor
