11 pounds setup
Here is my 11 psi setup:
Stock injectors
Vortech blow-off valve
MSD "booster" pump (only kicks in at 5 psi) with check valve
92 Octane for over 3000 miles now
CR9 iridium plugs
rear heat exchanger
intercooler strapped down
Apex Max RPM
Yes, I have 3 stacked head gaskets torqued to 38 foot pounds She has run 11 pounds of boost for 3 years now. Thanks for asking though and glad to hear about the RPM.
I have an MPI tage 1 kit and it runs great but I noticed the rpm my engine was reving to. It shows 10,800 RPMS and I get a full 11 pounds of boost with 24/26 pulleys. I thought the motor was suppose to rev only rev to 10,300. I have an Uhlmer clutch kit and it works fantastic but maybe I need...
Traction and Fuel booster
Fuel booster is a waste, doesn't do much at all from what I have read.
I have my control rod set at max weight transfer and use ski-doo summit track drive sprockets to eliminate ratcheting. You must have all open track windows to use these drivers.
Good luck...
I have an 2006 Apex with stacked head gaskets, vortech valve and run 10-11 pounds of boost. I ride with a stock F1000 and a stock Mach Z 1000. I use slightly less fuel than they do. This is with all of us trying to stretch out the miles per gallon on a long distance between fuel stops. I...
Any of you guys using marine fogging oil on a supercharged sled? Did you spray it into the SC intake throat or pull the IC to get at the throttle bodies? Just now geting around to the storage mode because we just got back from the UP near the end of March during that last snow storm. I don't...
How much boost
I am with Kinger, at 10-11 pounds of boost using 3 stacked head gaskets with Ted's torque specs, 26/24 pulleys, Ulmer's clutch setup, MSD booster pump coming in at 5 psi via hobbs switch and a Vortech valve. This setup will get you in trouble right now if you don't mind your...
91 and 10-11 lb
I have over 2000 miles on my Apex running 10-11 lbs and 93 octane but I have 3 stacked head gaskets. This is at sea level. When I was in areas where I was unsure of the actual octane, even though it said premium, I tried not to exceed 7 lbs until I filled it back up with...
Run w/o SC
I did just that by unplugging EFI controller and pulling the silicone blower outlet hose from bottom of intercooler. Ran like this for 750 miles.
SC versus Turbo
I would only have the supercharger for many reasons:
(1.) A supercharger uses the stock exhaust which won't close trails
(2.) Rear Turbos are too loud because their mufflers are a joke
(3.) Front mount turbos melt plastic or require a smaller fuel tank
(4.) All turbos...
MPI and pump fuel
I have been running 10 psi on pump fuel with 3 stacked gaskets for over 1500 miles. I had tuning troubles at the beginning but I got them sorted out and she runs fantastic. I added a Vortech valve and connected my IAC hoses to the intercooler. Gas milage is as good as any...
AJ,
I had a rich idle condition also and played with the CO settings with only minor improvements. Is your IAC connected to the intercooler? I have a SC and this trick fixed my stalling problem totally. It would stall immediately after letting off from a blast on the boost. By the way, I...
I tried the K&N out the past 3 days and I experienced no performance loss with it. I personally like the look and quality of the K&N better. A tighter fit than the MPI filter though.
Happy Holidays
I just rode 3 days with my 2 buddies and I used about 3/4 gallon less on my MPI Apex than a stock Crossfire 1000 and about 1/2 gallon less than a stock Mach Z 1000. My cruise (30-60 MPH) average A/f ratio is 13.5 and my WOT A/F average is 12.0. These fuel usage numbers are with all starting...
Ted jennetty pointed me in the right direction by removing the filter I had over the outlet on my vortech valve and connecting the Idle Air Control hoses to the intercooler. Before It would always die when letting off the throttle after applying boost and I could not use the boost at all last...
I want to thank all you guys for your help. I got her fixed the right way now. Yes the wheels did press onto the cross shaft as you guys told me. Everything is like the pictures now. I knew all you great people would chime in to help me out, that's what this forum is all about. thank you...
The upper guide wheels do not have replaceable bearings. Yes, I bought it new. Odd huh? Another thing the outside rear axle bearings are smaller than the bearings in my upper guide wheels. I beleive the upper guide wheels are 25 mm ID and the outside guide wheels are 20 mm ID. I know it is...
