Anyone running an MPI with lower boost on pump gas only? If so, how much boost can 92 octane handle on a stock motor? What kind of horsepower can be expected on pump gas with no other mods? I've heard a lot of speculation, but no real results.

i run a rx-1 with 24 24 pulleys about 8 lbs on 93 octaine for about 1800 miles no problems so far, stock motor should be about 210 hp all i know is it is a blast in the trails or on the lake. you can also lower it to 5 lbs if you want.

from what i can tell with mine its pretty hard to have a accurate boost. It changes with the weather. one day i am running 7 pounds. next day is colder and air is crisp and its making 8.5 and overrevving. not sure how peaple are doing this . i put a bleed ofvalve on mine when it is making to much boost i bleeed it of.

I want it to post on that subject. That is the first time I hear that from MPI owner.
I'm new on S/C and I too found this couple days days ago. I noticed I was running lean at WOT...Finally lookup at the boost gauge, was running 15 psi. Ouch! I did bleed off to 9-10. Now I know to check this everything.

must be diff from carb to efi my boost is always the same no matter what temp , i do get boost spike if i let off gas real fast . i do not use a blow off valve.

i was thinking next year to put the mpi supercharger on, but i just want to run pump gas, is it real reliable?

ask me at the nend of the year.lol. i think you would have to have a bleed off valve on it for sure. the boost changes. i think keep it under 7 pound s and no long spurts it will be fine.

MPI and pump fuel
I have been running 10 psi on pump fuel with 3 stacked gaskets for over 1500 miles. I had tuning troubles at the beginning but I got them sorted out and she runs fantastic. I added a Vortech valve and connected my IAC hoses to the intercooler. Gas milage is as good as any stock 1000 two stroke I ride with when not crazy with the flipper. Make sure you get the clutching worked out too. I use Ulmer's cluch kit. I am very happy now.

where do you have your boost gauge hooked up at
i hooked mine at the intercooler at first and boost was going to 15 now that it is hooked to the carb boots it reads 10 psi like it should

well here is something to think about. when i was originaly testing i was reading off a mechanical boost guage on the carb flange where i have my boost controller hooked to. was reading 7 pounds. I purchased a fjo guage from bpe and that one uses a sensor so i have it screwed into rthe intercooler. but now i am seeing just about 9 pounds. So do you think i have 9 or 7? i was thinking at wide open throttle shouldnt matter where they are reading from

Same question, more specifically on an 08,09 Nytro? I'd rather not touch the motor, but I guess just a fatter gasket would be ok. Whose running an MPI on a Nytro, with pump gas, with entirely stock motor? Clutching I can handle, just don't want to get into the motor.

Well i bought one used this year. He had two of them. He loved them both.... Mine now has over 2,000 miles with ZERO motor problems. The other one he has is the same thing ZERO problems. The only thing i was fighting alittle was the GEM box (fuel mapping) but she is real close now and MAN SO SO HAPPY!!! This sled from 0-100MPH IS SICK!! When you stop and bring the Rs up alittle i am setting at 3 psi then you nail her and BANG you are at 9-10psi and the sled is just PULLING UNREAL!!! The Nytro and a Supercharger is a killer match they just come out of the gate SO HARD!! HAHA It is not a topend freak but this sled is not a top end sled. It is turn to turn, jump to jump hole shot to hole shot fun..... OK i am done now....hahahha
