I suspect it is your starter relay. Next time it happens try jumping the starter cables located down by the electrical components next to the battery. If it spins over when you jump it I would replace the relay. I believe there was a thread on this last year so you might find it with a search...
I agree hemi but as you know, you and I are the people not riding. Hopefully it only happens to me and not you. You have had enough bad luck. Are you freezin over there? Warmed up from -33 to -13 today. A little pissed I had to cut the ride short.
Today I had the bolt fall out that holds the front swingarm to the rail. Suspension seemed to act like when the link broke. Everyone who had the link update done better check the torque on those bolts or you will have the same problem. Luckily I caught it before it twisted the rail on the other...
from manual: When installing a new v-belt be sure that it is positioned from 0.06" (1.5mm) above the edge of the secondary shieve to 0.02" (.5mm) below the edge. If the v-belt is not positioned correctly, the clutch engagement speed will be changed.
I don't see anything in there about...
Set the sled out in the cold and the same thing happened. I then jumped it at the relay or solenoid beside the battery. Engine spun over and fired up fine. Shut down the engine and tried the key and nothing. At least in a pinch I can jumper it to get going. I will see what the dealer thinks...
Just thought I would throw this out to see if anyone has experienced this. 07 FX cycles pump, dash, etc. when you turn key to start there is nothing, not even a click, battery is 100%. Do to the snow and ice build up in the front end I have spoiled this sled by keeping it in a heated garage. It...
If you ride her hard in deep snow the rad eventualy freezes over. As the snow seems to damn up in front of the heat exchanger when using a stock track you will see the warning light. I'm constantly clearing the front of the rad. It was way worse with no fan so it was a good upgrade to control...
3200 km and it broke for my 18 year old daughter, man SHE MUST DRIVE CRAZY! Hope my dealer is open on boxing day. The sled is not issue free but sure fun to ride. Hopefully we can get the bugs out of these phazers this year.
Merry Christmas and great sleddin in 08
:rocks:
GT windshield and deflectors. If you search this forum on the topic I believe you will even find the part #s for the gt deflectors. Make sure you order the hardware to install them. It is very simple and helps to keep the SK chill off. Maybe your dealer will match the US price.
Phazer Pride, sorry to hear of your problems but you are not alone. Do a search on this forum and you will find loads of info on your problem. I'm guessing you have an air lock problem. If your up to it there is a bleed cap in front of the antifreeze resevoir. There is also a problem with...
I would like to thank frees-tyler for a great job on customer service. As he stated he would do in this thread, he has supplied me with a fan. ;)! I now have no worries in the heat department. Hats off to you buddy and thumbs down to Yamaha Canada. Come on Yamaha, don't offload your...
The RTX on Yamaha.ca looks like very little changed. Same hole in the tunnel and no side skirts. Maybe they through in a fan this year. Think I'll stick with my FX. Was waiting for the 130 hp but "smack" what a price on that Nytro.
Just noticed my FX seat is coming unstiched, anyone other than us two having this trouble? I better mention this to the dealer. I have 2200 km on my sled, really shouldn't be comimng apart.
Tell your dealer you want the GT windshield on a FX. If he is realy good you can likely talk him into the wind deflectors also. If not send an e-mail to Port Yamaha and they will fix you up with them for less than $100 shipping in. You get the shocks, hooked handle bar, gearing is a little lower...
Thanks Phazerfly, I might call S'toon in the morning. Heading out Sunday morning for a ride along the west side of the PA Park to Big River. Hopefully the wind lets up. The fields are a little hard but there is a lot of snow here. Should be a good ride.
