It depends what you are comparing it to. I live in Maine and probably ride similar areas as you. It handles the fresh snow much better than my Apex. i can break trail with the Phazer much easier than with the Apex. I actually enjoyed riding it in the fresh snow from the last 18 inch storm in...
I own both. I've had the APex RTx since new in 2006, the phazer I've ridden about 250 miles this year. Phazer is a blast to ride, but hands down the Apex is my favorite. I like playing around on the phazer, but if I could only choose one I would take the Apex. On long trail rides that Apex...
My dealer said he thought there would be a 125-130 hp sled to replace the nytro. Similar to there snow cross sled. I don't think there will be any big hp sled ton replace the Apex until another year. I'm debating the same thing putting a supercharger on 2006 Apex i have or just waiting one...
I'm in Portland and nothing even in sight. We already cancelled our trip to Quebec next week. After that were suppose to be headed to Rangeley and thats not looking good either.
I did 120 of the 1.375 woody's as well. I just studded down the middle. The year before I studded my RX1 using outside as well and almost all of the outside ones either bent or broke. This year going just down the middle none have broken or bent.
I just installed 72 down the middle Woody's 1.075 I don't think they'll hit anywhere as far as I can tell. My dealer said I should be Ok. He was installing 96 down the middle of one they had there for a customer. I'll take some pictures tonight and email tomorrow
I just traded my girlfriends MXZ 600 for a phazer. Woody's performance center in Topsham Maine took good care of me and gave me a deal I couldn't refuse. Can't wait to try it out.
I was there Saturday and got to ride one. The track was bad, but it was still nice to get on one before I bought one. I was surprised it went as well as it did with all that time in the mud.
Silverbullet, Where in Quebec were you? We went up from Maine last year for the first time an were planning on going again this year, but i'd like to trey a new area. Any information would be great. My email is cswan@bmcfirst.com
My friend has an 04RX1 and i have an APex RTX. We rode in QUebec all weekend and he was consistently getting better gas mileage. I would say by about 5-10%. Another guy was on a REV600sdi and he was better than both of us
I hear you. i was going to Rangeley today for the weekend to ride. I just called up there and it's raining hard and the lake is all slush. Looks like another weekend with no riding.
I rode in Rangeley area as well. We drove down the Kennebago road to th Tim Pond Road and put on some miles on the logging roads. The roads in there were great. We only rode about 25 miles, but the RTX was very impressive. I couldn't believe the difference between that and the RX1.
