guys, my 04 warrior with just over 10k miles has been starting hard since last winter. This summer I replaced the coils b/c I noticed the light show and also put in new plugs. Now it stills takes almost 10 turns of the key for it to fire. Once it fires she does not want to run with out choke or a little throttle. Once it's warm enough to run and I take it out for a rip it's back to normal. What could be causing this.

I am far from being an expert on this, but it sounds like a good carb cleaning would help. Just last week my '04 RX-1 was doing about the same thing. I cleaned the carbs and she runs like a raped ape again, idles great and starts right away. Just my 2 cents.

Carbs seem to always be 98% of the problem at least 64% of the time.

ok, but I am a dummy with carbs. is there a thread here for doing this procedure? I know where they are and what they are just dont know how to clean them.

Pull the rack, flip over, remove the bowls, remove the brass jets and clean them in a solvent then find something thin enough to ream out any particualtes remaining. Strands from a wire brush work well. (DON NOT USE DRILL BITS). I also blow out all the passages with compressed air from can made for cleaning electronics.

Re-assemble and ride like mad man!
