Hi everyone,
New to the forum and i have my 1st of probably many questions as I am looking at my first snowmobile.
I have decided on a 2Up for me and my family and really like the Venture RS.
There is 2 near me for sale that I am interested in and was wondering if there are any significant differences in the 2.
1) is an 2005 Venture RS 973cc with 2500kms (includes 2 helmets and a Yamaha cargo bag that replaces the 2Up when solo, studded track)
2) is an 2009 Venture RS 973cc with 5300kms ( includes 2016 Trail Pass & studded track)
So you can see my dilemma , one is older but lower mileage and a few accessories , the other is newer but higher mileage. So I was wondering if the 09 has any significant improvements that would make it worth it over the 05. They are about $350 apart in price.

I think the big difference is that the 2009 would have electronic fuel injection if memory serves me correct??? I had an 05 RS Venture and put over 20,000 miles on it. Great sled. I upgraded to an 11 RS Venture GT in the fall of 2010 and put over 15,000 miles on it before I traded that in for a Viper in the fall of 2014. The big difference was the electronic fuel injection. The ride was more defined on the 11 but that is maybe because it was the GT model? Both sleds still had original spark plugs in them when I traded them in! I did like the 05 better for solo riding because you could remove the second seat and backrest because it had a nice area for a dufflebag if going on a long trip etc... I was going to say go for the 11 but for half the miles and some accessories the 05 might be the way to go. Either way you cannot go wrong. So I guess I have not helped you at all in deciding!!

24K miles
If they both have the 973cc motor then they both have carburetors. The 1049cc motors all have the FI....if memory serves.

4strokeluvr111, you are correct. Good catch. I remember now that the GT model is the 1049 cc with fuel injection. With that said I would go for the 05 with less miles. Thanks

I'd get the 09 even if it has more miles. 09 had updated stator and cam chain tensioner.
