Anyone know what the price is for a new windshield fairing for an 05 RX...the piece I am taling about is the V shape plastic that sits on top of the lower half of the windshield...i just broke mine and I am trying to decide if I want to waste my time trying to glue it. :?

$91...wow, steeper than i guessed...may have to try and get this thing glued...its the boot where the screws go so it will be hidden....i dont suppose anyone has an extra laying around?

I think you're referring the the "headlight mask", right? The one with carbon-fibre print is listed at $59.95 on the Yamaha website. For some strange reason its cheaper than the standard one.

well LB...you are correct...i just looked...that appears to be the piece assuming its not some overlay for the orginal...if the original really is $100 bucks, can you say "upgrade"! Thanks.

I'm pretty sure its not an overlay, I've heard of it being used to replace the original.

I have the carbon fiber one... I dont like it as much as the stock one but it was alot cheaper..
YOu could always wet sand it and paint it gloss black or semi gloss black or even blue..

Headlight Mask
With only 500 miles on my RX1ER, I noticed that my HL mask was loose on one side. Turns out the the outer plastic boss (that accepts the retaining screw) broke off. Can't imagine why. Cost me $91.00 for a replacement as well.
This may be a "weak link" on the sled as I didn't "tweak" anything.

Its weak so that if you go through the windshield, it breaks away rather than impaling you with sharp broken shards of plexiglass.

my dad has an 04 rx1 and he dished it on its side and skuffed the side panel, windshield, and broke some pieces inside the windshield, but he put a carbon fiber one on and it doesnt look too bad, this year he put the carbon fiber exhaust covers on too, actually looks pretty sweet. but if ur not into the carbon fiber thing then u mine as well spend the $30 and get the all black one
