I've got an '05 RX Warrior 136 with 5k miles. Primary clutch spring is black w/yellow stripes and 8FA-OO clutch weights. Secondary clutch has black spring w/white stripes set at position 3-3 60 degrees. Sled tops out at 9,000 rpms. Both clutches were cleaned, rollers checked for flat spots, bushings etc and reassembled to eliminate possible problems. No change.
Just for kicks put 2004 RX-1 clutch off my buddy sled(primary spring white w/yellow stripes not sure of the weights) on my sled and she pegs 10,700 all day long. I'm assuming my clutch and his are both stock. Should I copy his configuration on my sled or replace my primary spring first as I have heard they get weaker and should be replaced annually?

Thanks in advance for any input ....The MAZ

try a new spring 1st as they are only $20.00 around here. if still low, then you will have to adjust things.

If it works I would copy his set up it is cheap for both springs...... but before 3-3 wind on the secondary is not the stock setup 6-1 I believe is and you may want to make sure the secondary has the proper wind on it. If it was changed to 3-3 they may not have the wind right and it may be binding.
