05 rx1 w/3,100 miles bone stock w/192. my plans are to add c&a skis, black skidplate, new battery, heated shield wiring, black handguards, 2" riser, mt strap, black shock covers, 07 flap, ulmer filter relocation kit, remove mono and send arms to halfbaked for beef up and powder coat candy red, powder coat bumper candy red, new slides, silverstars.

i've already installed the handguards, riser, shock covers, skis, battery, shield wiring, headlight bulbs.

want to add black running board snoslips but yamaha doesn't stock them anymore. anyone have a used set?

nothing drastic, just cosmetic mostly. make a great sled even better.

;)!

are you looking for the black tunnel reinforcements or something else? I have the tunnel reinforcements that I wont be able to use when I get the ExpertX installed.

have you thought of adding an Apex seat? It makes a huge difference.

yeah those would be perfect but i'm not sure if they work because of a mono shock. i think the bolt spots are different.

not going to do the apex seat now, maybe down the road

You know what would really make that sled pop would be a powder coated steering gate and batter cage. I happen to have one in your color red.

$50 they are both yours and you'll love lifting the hood!

For tunnel reinforcements, you can try Muffin Works, here on the webite, they have one that works with the mono shock skid, and you can get them powdercoated different colors also.
Take a look at Lake Effect Risers, also here on the site, they are very sweet, I have them on both of my sleds.

UPDATE

i put my mt strap on and i found a bar cover on port yamahas site that would work for apex mtx/nytro mtx. fit perfect, i just added foam here and there from my old one. i also put my skid plate on minus the rivet nuts(JUNK) i tap them and put in 5/16 fine thread bolts

anyone know if that chrome ring would fit or do i need something else?

you need a riser for an apex for the chrome ring to work. I guess they are a different shape at the bottom. the 2.5" pivot risers I have on mine is for an Apex and the chrome ring fits great.

that looks like a lot better idea for attaching the skid plate. I put a yellow one on my warrior a couple weeks ago and those rivnuts dont seem like they will hold for too long. I dont want to have to mess with trying to get it back on if it decides to fall off in the middle of riding season. Im going to have to try what you did.

here is what i did;

i drilled out the rivets then i drilled them out with a 17/64 bit. and tapped them with a 5/16-24 tap. i picked up 4 1" 5/16 - 24 bolts with washers and lock washers. 3/4" long bolts would be better but all i could find is 1". i used medium strength lock tite. i drilled out the skid plate with a 5/16 bit but naturally the holes don't line up so they have to be egged out. i put some plastic spacers on the bit so i only have about a 1/2inch of the bit.

i did the same exact thing on your fathers sled but i think i used 3/8 fine thread bolts. the bolts should still be there.

That bottom plate is thin thin thin, what were you tapping? That is why the nut sert was used from yamaha so there is actually some thread in there for the bolt to bite on.

IIRC with a fine thread bolt you may get one thread to bite thats it. One small hit and it will pop right off.

maybe it is different on an apex but there is actually two plates to drill through in all 4 corners and the 2nd plate is twice as thick as the 1st.. there is about 4 or 5 threads that bite, maybe more.

actually i think my attak was the same, that had 2100 miles with no problem

i trust it more than those junk rivet nuts.
