Hello all,
Last yeat I bought a 2005 RX Warrior with 1100 miles. Ran great no problems! I put about 1500 miles on it last year. As I get ready for this year's season, I would like to hear from some other warrior owners about what things I shoud be doing to the sled before riding this season. I would prefer to do the maintenance myself, instead of dropping a couple hundred at the dealer. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

well i would start with an inspection of all idler wheel bearings in rear suspension, slider plastic thickness/condition, ski contioin including wear bars/carbides, blow out clutches with air gun, and replace chain case oil. i will assume the motor oil was changed at the end of last season so it should be ok still. others will chime in with more or more detail but this is a good place to start.

Everything maim mentioned and:
Inspect the W arm on the front of your rear suspension, make sure it doesn't have any cracks in it. Repair if required.
Lube anything on the chassis you can including grease zerks on the suspension.

Might have to clean the carbs, the idle jets will eventually plug up and cause a rough idle.
Also sync the carbs after cleaning for best idle quality.

I would check the bushings in the front on the bulkhead and a-arms. With only 1100 miles you should be fine but worth checking for play. Check track tension too!

Thanks for the replys!
Is it standard to clean the carbs of a 4-stroke before every season?

I use fuel stabilizer in the spring, start it a few times over the summer, then use a bit of fuel injector cleaner in the fuel in the fall, and occasionally over the winter.
This has worked well to keep the carbs clean.

That's great info - I put stable in it at the end of the season, and have started the machine once a month since. I will use the cleaner as well!
Thanks
Thanks

I usually clean my carbs every other season. I cleaned them last december, have rode a couple times in the last week and they still seem to be okay.
I put stabil in every spring, sled is then stored until fall.

SHOCKS
You can check your shocks for signs of leakage. That quasi-clicker shock on the rear of the skid has been known to leak.
BELT
Rotate the belt out, chances are you have a new one in the holder??? Then scuff both belts with 220 grit paper and wash it with a mild soapy water, rinse and let air dry. I also scuff the clutch sheaves using 220 grit sandpaper. You will also want to inspect the Primary sheaves for cracks near the shaft. Check your belt deflection too.
SPARK PLUGS
change the spark plugs.
TRACK and SKID
I think it's been said already but Track tension and alignment, loose studs if you have them, missing track clips, etc... suspension mount bolts, grease the zerks, and lubricate cables and check brake fluid, and coolant level.
If all else fails, don't take our word for it, go through your manual. Everything you do now is preventive and trust me, the more thorough you are at this point, the more seat time you'll have during the Season.
