My brother is thinking about buying a Warrior. He just sold his 01 800 and this would be his first 4 stroke. I would like to know what you guys think of this sled. Thanks, any info would be appreciated.

They're a bit slower than the RX-1 on the top end(expect 100-105 stock), but have better punch off the line, and the longer track helps a LOT in the pow-pow.
People have piled well over 20,000 miles on these motors and they're still going strong, and my Warrior uses about 50% less gas than a 600 carb 2-stroke while outperforming it.
It's arguably the best "performance trail" sled out there, though don't expect a ditch-banger. Mild-to-moderate stutters/moguls are ok, but when it gets really nasty the pro-action skid just doesn't deliver.
The acceleration on hardpack is incredible, I've never been on a 2 stroke that even comes close(relatively stock).

Thanks for the comments guys. Good to know the motor is strong. How would you rate the cornering of this sled. So the suspension can't handle the rough stuff. Bottoming? He likes jumping here and there?
Thanks
Thanks

I like my warrior and plan to keep it another year or so. I have 11K miles. No problem with the motor but I have rebuild the pro-action a couple of times. Simple and cheap.
Good trail sled but it is heavy. I wouldnt expect it to be much on jumping or any ditch-banging.

How do you find the suspension? He rides hard and looks for stuff to hit off.

that sounds like the sled in my avatar. the only thing i would reccomend would be the 12/13mm sway bar on the front. if he is a trail corner carver this would be the best bang for the buck.
i jumped mine some stock and did not find it too bad. i have since upgraded to olins on the rear and the trail ride was much better. doing the fronts and the swaybar this year. i put a 2003 rx1 seat on it as i found the 05 seat too tall for my short butt.
i am at around 3500km i think. have to check milage thread.
and one other thing, ulmers clutching really wakes this sled up in the trails. stock is not too bad.

I had an 04 Warrior and with the front end lowered and Simmons skis, it clung to the tight, twisty trails well (as long as they were mainly smooth). I could keep up with my bro and his REV but I had to work a little for it. (I know it pissed him off to find me right behind him at a stop) He and I have about the same riding skill/experience. The thicker stabilizer bar should only help cornering and there are better skis for handling, in my opinion, like C&A.
I thought the Warrior was a nice all around machine though. I actually miss it in some ways and I ride an Apex now.

I love my Warrior and with a few mods it is a very capable sled. I did upgrade my skis and put Ohlins on it and that made a HUGE difference as far as handling the bumps. I can walk away from my buddies stock Attak in the bigger bumps. The sled rides pretty hard after the Ohlin upgrade but it's worth it to me. I haven't bottomed the sled since upgrading. Nice thing about a stock Warrior is how nice they ride. If you want to put a ton of miles on a sled, leave it alone and ride it. Smooth, comfortable and rips out of the hole... Ditch banger? Not without a few mods. JMHO
