MY 06 Attak has given me no real issues until today. My sled has 3700 miles on it, had all updates including the 07 chain case cover and gasket. This past Sunday we rode, did about 150 miles. Today I went into my garage to check over my sled and discovered a good sized puddle of chain case oil under the sled. I pulled the plastic side covers and checked over the chain case. There are no dents or cracks that I can see. What I did see is the oil appears to be seaping right through the gasket at the bottom of the chain case. Has anybody else had this happen? My last few miles of Sundays ride were pretty much wide open to the bar for a few miles.

yep....seen it even on the newer updated outer cases.....I would have the dealer who did the work originally do it again, and IMO they should cover this, even if you are out of warranty....but they probably wont want to.....
you might just want to pull it yourself if they wont do it....and clean it,reinstall all...maybe buying a new gasket....and possibly some RTV silicone around the bottom area on reinstal.

I had been going back and forth with Yamaha for the last 3 weeks after blowing my chain case and having my sled catch fire. Yesterday I received an updated case, gears, chain, etc.
If this one leaks and/or blows somebody is gonna die - and it won't be me!
Depending on how you look at it, I might be fortunate. Yamaha wouldn't cover any labor, so I won't have to worry about whether it was done right or not.

Last year, ny sled had about 500 miles and the same thing happenned, it was the seal inside the chaincase. Dealer said he never saw that. He replaced the cover AND the gasket and later figured out that all it was , was the seal.
