06 gearing vs 07 gearing

Hey guys....

I'm new to the forum and new to Yamaha. I bought a 06 RTX without reverse. This site has been very helpful for me. Thanks to all.

Question...does anyone know what the stock gearing is on a 06 RTX, 06 Attak and possible the 07 RTX (I heard they made a change).

I'm doing some clutching changes and want to change gearing as well.

i think the 2006 RTX is geared the same as the other Apex's i think. The attack is geared down i think, and i believe the 2007 RTX is now geared down.

Any idea what the top tooth and bottom tooth are (on all three)?

I belive they all use a 39 tooth bottom.
The attack for 06 and 07 is a 23t
The Apex for 06 is 24t
The Apex RTX is 22t

All 06 Apex including the RTX use a 24 top gear. All Attacks use a 23.

For 2007 all of that remains the same except for the RTX which will have a 22 top gear.
