September we flew down to San Antonio for Jacks graduation from BMT. Best 2 days of my life!!!! First day Airmen’s Run, first time we got to see him since he left. Gives me chills to this day watching it.

Second day was the Parade Ceremony. I’ll spare you all the details and just share this video of the recap. Tapping him out both days will be the highlight of my life, hands down.

After graduation Jack went to Sheppard Air Force Base for schooling. He took a job in weapons as an aircraft armament specialist where he does system checks on aircraft, assembles the missiles and loads them onto the aircraft.
After school he was able to come home for a few weeks for RAP (Recruiter assistance program) then he shipped off to S Korea at Osan AFB where he will be for a year before heading to Okinawa Japan for the following 3 years.

It was good having Jack home on RAP this past Christmas.

While he was home we had an episode with Mulder. He went into a seizure for about 2 minutes and it was scary. I thought maybe he ate something or a bug bite caused it until his blood work came back as normal. The vet ran a bunch of tests but couldn’t find anything. A few days later he had 3 seizures in one day and back to the vet we went. More testing and then we found out he has epilepsy. We started him on medication and went about a week without a seizure but then they came back. We changed his meds to a stronger script but has side effects of liver damage. I started researching and found a somewhat local clinic that specializes in CBD for dogs. I gave him his first dose when I got home that night but I wasn’t prepared for what was to happen next.
Long story short, Mulder lunged and attacked my daughter’s friend unprovoked. He got off 2 bites before I was able to intervene. We took her to the hospital and she was ok, shaken but not hurt thankfully. He barely broke the skin, more bruising and swollen than anything else. It was the worst feeling in the world having my dog attack someone’s 10 year old daughter on my watch. Mulders demeanor and behavior changed for the worst shortly after that first seizure. I spent thousands of dollars on obedience training from when he was 6 months to 14 months and it seemed all that went out the window after the epilepsy diagnosis. The wife and I both knew what we needed to do but damnit, I only had him 18 months and 23 days!
The next day I made the appointment and had to say goodbye to my new best friend after only a brief time with him. Damn that is hard!

On a side note, with Yamaha leaving the industry, I had to order a Final Edition. In March of 24 I ordered a 25 Sidewinder XTX LE 146. Has EPS and IQS shocks.

I picked it up in October and brought it up north.

First new sled I’ve ever bought. Probably the last too.

Enjoy that new sled and thank your son for his service

I appreciate that.
My #2 son has decided to enlist now too. He was leaning towards the Marines like my nephew did this summer but Jack has now talked him into the AirForce. So Josh signed up for summer school to be able to graduate high school this coming December. He plans to head off to Lackland Air Force base for BMT right after Xmas. Can’t wait to experience that graduation again. Wife and I told our daughter she’s next and almost has to go because the precedence is set.

Jack called last night after sending a photo to my wife via snap of him sitting in medical with an IV in his arm.
He told me he wasn’t feeling great the last few days but pushed thru it for work. Night before last he was up all night throwing up and couldn’t make it to report for work so he had to go to medical. They gave him the IV for dehydration and checked him out. The MD told him to sit tight while he consulted with another Dr and left him in the room. He said about 40 minutes later another MD came in and checked his vitals and told him they’d have him out of there in 45 minutes. Jack asked if he was going back to his room to rest and the MD told him no son, you’re going in for surgery to get your appendix out. Kinda freaked him out a little. He told me the first Dr never said anything about it, it was the anesthesiologist that told him. I said that’s because you’re not a civilian bud, you’re the property of the United States military and they are gonna do whatever they want to get you fixed up to get you back on the line. They don’t have to discuss your options.
So he texted last night at 3:12am that he was out of surgery and by 8:20 this morning was back in his room. Said they gave him 2 weeks of R&R but he’s not gonna be down that long. My wife told me, like father like son!
