Just took first ride on my Rage with my kids. We studded the Rages ,Attak [aftermarket heat exchanger],the tunnel protectors weren't quite long enough, got scratches on heat exchangers. Yamaha has an update that suggests lower the tunnel protectors at the exchanger and adding shims, spacers to keep them lower, rivet them back on.As a quick fix,we riveted short sections of hyfax to protector to prevent further damage. My seat gets warm[hot] from exhaust on a longer ride. The exhaust seems loud, wonder if exhaust extension, tips or turnouts would help. Thanks. plowking

It's the dreaded Ripsaw howl.................... It's the track making most of the noise.. Sorry, we all hear it. MM.

"It's the dreaded Ripsaw howl" Here is my take on this......
Every since, I have rode my first higher than 3/4" lug long track snowmobile on hard pack I have heard track howl to various degrees and intensity. I have a 06 Rage and I set the track tension as loose as possible without ratcheting and saw a big improvement to track noise, hyfax wear and the engine braking effect. Why run a track any tighter than necessary as long as it's tracking straight and not slapping the tunnel ?

Mad, Is this 1 1/2" sag with or without pulling down at the center of rail ? Thanks !

Just enough pressure with my hand in the middle of the track to make it even.. Not the 21 lbs. that yammie calls for. MM.
