Gents,
I've put a 1000 miles on a new set of hyfax. The first 850 miles they looked in great shape. Put about 150 miles on in warm (around freezing) conditions this weekend and noticed that my suspension wasn't icing up anymore. I assumed it was the warm weather and the snow wasn't sticking to the suspension. When I checked my hyfax I found they were about 90% gone (only where there are no idler wheels- about 18 inches from the rear), and the sliders were quite warm. There was still snow dust flying, bust obviously not enough. It is about a foot long of wear, otherwise I would say the sliders have about 80 - 90% left. I was planning on putting on oversized skidoo wheels and the marginal kit up front. But this is suggesting this skid needs another set of idler wheels where the excessive wear is taking place. I don't run my track as tight as yamaha suggests, so this may be why the rest of the sliders are ok. My question is, has anyone installed a extra set of wheels in the area I'm talking about,(particularly on a 136 skid). Any info or pics would be appreciated.
Mucho gracias,
Greg
