Just curious if the new skid in the 07 effects hoe the sled handles, esp. corning. Some of the reviews i've seen indicate that the 07 RTX doesn't corner as flat as the 06. I know the bump capability of the sled improved in 07, just wondering if anyone has any input on this yet. Thanks. :yam:

My 06 was flatter , I only have 25m on the 07 but have spent time trying to get it to corner flat , changed transfer , shocks up / down and can't seem to find the sweet spot. The next thing I will try is to pull the limiters 1 hole. That will probably fix it but only as a last try !Softened the rear preload , and except for inside ski lift it is a great ride ! The 2006 front was perfect , and now rear on the 07 is as good . (not too firm )

Ski lift is ok as long as you expect it !!!

Take some transfer out of the transfer rods.I don't think your going to get it to corner as flat as the mono but I think it's alot more fun to ride for my riding style.

There is a lot more adjustability with the 07 RTX compared to the monoshock. It should be possible to make it corner very well.

Tightening the limiter straps will have the most significant effect on cornering flatness with the least effect on other characteristics (up to a point - it will also tend to keep the skis on the ground over rolling hills and make it nose dive if it gets in the air).

Reducing the weight transfer setting will flatten out the cornering (but will also stiffen up the ride and reduce the holeshot performance).

You can also reduce the middle spring preload (front skid shock), slightly increase the pressure in the front shocks and increase the preload on the torsion springs (if needed) to put more weight on the skis.

If the damping and springs are stiff enough (so you don't start bottoming out) you could also lower the entire sled by reducing the spring preload/air pressure everywhere.

The fox shocks will allow the front end to roll more than traditional springs and this can be compensated for by installing a 12mm or 13mm sway bar (I've got a 13mm going in).

Some combination of the above and it should handle great!

I'm looking forward to getting mine out and getting it set up to corner flat - when we get a little more snow...

I tried with the track front spring, softened all the way , to the point that it was loose , still rolled , the floats at 75-80 lbs helped but gave to much ski pressure .

Conditions are not good yet , so time will tell , not to worry , we will figure it out !

trust me I rode proactive the last two years .You have to take the transfer out on the transfer nuts.

Stupid question, just got my 07 rtx.

it seems to be pretty flat.. the front skies will not pull in the air just light when on the gas, that seems to me to be perfect ??

thoughts ?

i put the torsion spring to hard. and put 3 or 4 more treads showing on the coil over shock and 5 clicks on the clicker shock to the hard side ?

the machine seems perfect... to me. any thoughts ?

cheers

Sounds good long as you like it.
Everyone rides a little different.I personally like alittle ski lift because I like to jump and do wheelie's.Youhave to compromise in one area to better in another area.

I want mine to rail like my 97 700 sx. You can't beat that thing in the corners. I'm going to bring the apex down as much as i can, hopefully getting wieght closer to the ground will make her turn flatter. I should also be looking at the big boy spring and the 13mm sway bar. was also considering the hartman extended a-arms, but am worried that it won't fit into the trailer. My favorite part of riding is smoking people through a woods with a lot of corners, then getting out and letting her eat!! I'm going to play with it and see what happens. any tips??
