06 RTX vs Nytro XTX

I have a 2006 Apex RTX and buddy of mine just bought a 2009 Nytro XTX. He beats me everytime we race on teh lake no matter if it is from a dead stop of rolling. I have a 1.25 ripsaw with 96 up the center and he has a 1.25 ripsaw 144". I thought the Nytro would be much slower than the apex??????? Both sleds are comletly stock. Mine has 10k on it his has 6k. Please help I cant listen to it any more lol

the nytro is hard to beat in a drag race the apex likes longer runs generally the apex leaves the nytro after 90 mph

We raced the length of the lake and he smoked me. even after 90 mph i still couldnt catch him. the most i have seen on the speedo is 107 and that is nice hard packed trail. somethings gotta be up with the apex!!!! HELP

First off, loose the studs, or throw on alot more. 96 studs does not do any thing but add weight. Especially if you are running the stock ripsaw. JUst my opinion

seen 119 on my wishometer, i got a 06 rtx with no studs

i think something else must be wrong or different with mine. I dont think i would lose that much speed with having 96 up the center

you may want to adjusted your transfer. you are problably spinning for a long time. I used to have an attak and with no stud kick a nitro all the time. Your setup is missing something..

06 Rtx is geared at 22 on the top. Fast up to 100 mph but thats all it will get, typically. Throw in a 23 gear and you will pick up some more top end for those long runs.

06 rtx has 24 top gear...sorry. they changed to a 22 in 07.

Vicman - my buddy has a 2008 Nytro and kicks my arse all the time. I have the same sled you do, minus the studs. His Nytro can lift the skis off the ground at less than full throttle. The best I can do is stay within a sled length up to 70, then I start nipping on his heels. He usually lets off before I can pass...that a-hole

06 rtx has 24 top gear...sorry. they changed to a 22 in 07.

My xtx held its ground to 65 mph then that darn 06 apex gt of sledneck22's was on my side. Took him out of the hole by a link and a half then at about 400 ft he was passing me.
