Looking for a sled for the wife. We have been looking at Vectors and there are a couple good buys on some 06 demos. However, there are a couple nice 05 RX-1 ER's here too. Is there much of a difference besides the engine? My concern about the RX-1 is how tough the older RX's are to steer. I have an 04 Warrior and she gets tired steering that after a while. I know the longer track isnt helping much there either. Anyway, is the Vector a lot lighter on the controls? Also are the mono shocks identical? Thanks for your input!

The vector would be a lot better choice. It has a lot lighter feel. The vector has the same front suspension geometry as the apex. For speed there about the same up to 80mph.

The 06 Vector Gt actually has an improved version of the 05 RX-1 mono shock.
They worked on some areas that were weak on the 05.
I think 90% of the women that ride would prefer the Vector over the RX-1.

Unless you do a lot of work to the RX, she will be afraid of it as it can be very tippy. I did a wide kit, springs, bar, and pilot skis. works good for my daughter.
All in all the Vector is a better choice for most ladies.
