My 06 has a Team Rapid Reaction clutch. Theres a twin trax helix in it.
58-40-46 and 58-38-46. I have to look where the "x" is to see what helix it's actually using. Just wondering what would be the better of the 2. Or maybe buy a new helix that might work better. I'll take it out tonight and report back whats in it for a spring.

The primary is a blue with white stripe. Does this spring sound familiar? I'll check whats in it for weights tonight as well. I'm not up on Yamaha clutching as this is my first Yammy. Im formerly a Polaris man. lol.

Thanks

I got the primary off tonight...Blue/white spring in it with 8FP 00 weights with the tip rivit removed.

Couldnt get the helix off the Team because I didnt have a Torx to fit...25 was too smal and 30 was to big...Soo need to find the proper torx for that...Helix angle is 58-40-46.

My bud said the sled ran 11000 rpm. I havnt tried it so I dont know. I raced it for him last season but didnt pay any attention to that. I was only worried about engagement. Should be running around 10 600 though shouldnt it?

Thanks again.

If your sled is over revving, you might be best off with a helix with a steeper final angle. Although, because both of those helix's have a similar final angle, one being 38 & the other 40, that wouldn't make much difference in RPM at top end.
Best advise would be to hit the lake & do some testing, swap the helix's on same day & compare. If the RPM's are still a bit high, you might have to try heavier weights or add more to the tip of your existing weights.
I ran a team on my xc 700 & liked the very quick back shifting compared to the o'l Poo button clutch but not sure how they are with the Apex as these seemed to have nice stock clutching.

Ok thanks! Yes, I need to get out and try it. Still waiting for parts and snow though! hehehe. Shock's getting rebuilt at Shocktec. As for adding weight to bring the rpm's back down, I would rather go with a quick change weight system. Adding and removing rivits I can see being a chore when trying to dial this thing in. I've been reading about Drag and Fly's. My buddy actually has a set that he got with his sled and said I could borrow them. I just need some help as to how these things work and how to set them up. Will these weights last miles and miles of trail usage?

You cant just buy heavier weights like Polaris and cat, so thats why I was thinking on going with adjustable. Thanks for any help! Anyone know where the blue/white spring comes from?

The best dude to talk to would be Mr. Allen Ulmer from Ulmer racing. He will answer all your questions & hook you up with the right weights for your application.

Tore into the secondary last night...Red/blue spring in it. As far as I can its a Team blue/white primary spring. 77-260 rate but is measured in mm. The stock Y-S-Y is a 77 260 as well but the measurements are diff.

I'm still going to call allen and see what he says. Just figured id throw this out there. Someone may comment on it.
