K Guys heres the deal was out on a run Wednesday when stud went through front heat exchanger ran out of coolant limoed it to nearest town motor sounded different when reached nearest town i just figured that it was due to overheating, got the machine home drained oil fixed heatexchanger filled coolant and now it still sounds rough like running oin 3 cylinders can even feel a miss when idling changed plugs thought that was the prob but it still is there anyone got any ideas for me ???

Thanks in advance
PS at time of overheating i was running full synthetic oil

Tom

Did any one of the plugs you took out look different?? any signs of a lean condition in one cylinder..

HUM... Got me, maybe someone else can be more help than me... Not sure what would cause that, maybe a burnt valve???? But if compression is good then??? Not sure..

K Shanks thanks for trying maybe if ya sleep on it it will come to ya .LOL

LOL... I can't sleep, its against the rules.... Im at work...

is there something that needs to be reset after overheating or does it reset it self after going into limp mode? as i said it sounds the same as when i got it back home also it idless at 1000 rpm its like its not getting the fuel to all cylinders is there something that could have happened to fuel rail after overheating ?? ive had a few friends that have overheated their sleds got home changed oil and all is well hope its something small im overlooking with this sled ??

I have a feeling that you over heated the motor and took out the head gasket or head gasket is on its way out. A head gasket is cheap $40 but lots of labor to do.

quick question if the compression is good across the board and its not visably leaking and it doesnt puff white smoke out exaust can it still be a head gasket?? also what is the stock comporession to be on this apex?? thanks in advance guys!!!!!

k guys i know there has been alot of theroys thrown out here regarding overheated motor but is it possible that the failsafe mode it went into after overheating didnt reset?? is this a sensor that puts motor into failsafe? alos is it possible that the valves arnt opening all the way?? i know im grasping at straws here but im not sure what way to turn still havent found a pressurizer for the coolant system so my mind is racing at other things it could be other than head gasket???
