i got my attak gt over the weekend , and a few times when i put it in reverse i would give it gas and it would make a funny grinding noise and jerk forward!! its back at the dealer but w.t.f. did i do any damage? it's my first yammy and it was beeping telling me it was in reverse??? :o|

common problem with theses sleds. the reverse linkage is out of adjustment. before i picked mine up i told the dealer to make sure its adjusted right. he did and it has never been anything but perfect.

Here is a question for ya, When you go back to the dealer ask them why they never checked it, All these sleds are suppose to pass a little check list, and it seems so many dealers last year seemed to overlook a simple adjustment.

At least it's only a linkage adjustment. I have worked on and installed mechanical reverse kits on every brand of snowmobile, and there is ABSOLUTLEY no comparison between the quality of the Yamaha reverse kits and the other brands. Every single part in a Yamaha kit is better than other brands. This amy be a moot point soon, as the RER is the current setup on Doos and most Poos.

Too bad we cant have the RER setup. Thats the best: no added parts.

Mine did the same thing. I had the dealer adjust it and pull the cover to check for damage. There was none and now it works fine.

They did not cover the labor and lube. Cost me $45 but worth the piece of mind.

Q,

Who is your dealer? This should be covered for sure unless you did not have a new sled. It is a simple 2 minute adjustment.

They covered the adjustment, they did not cover my request to remove the cover and look inside to make sure there was no damage. He tried to convince me, but I just wanted to be sure. I'm ok with that.
