In stead of starting a new thread I dug this one up.
I did buy a used Attak GT (2007) last season around late February...as mentioned in other threads. The sled is super clean, one owner, looks showroom. The guy only transported it to the UP from Madison,WI in an enclosed trailer and rode around 50 mph with his wife. It had 12,300 miles on it and I put about 1,000 miles on it in a month. Ran like a champ. I am doing some normal maintenance things to it now, clutch bushings, driver bearings, gonna pull skid and check all the wheels and bushings...all that. Exhaust donuts were done beforehand.
The stock Ripsaw is original and it looks perfect. I just want better hookup and missed out on Port Yamaha who had a bunch of Cobra 136" tracks on ebay for $450/free shipping. I ordered clutch parts today and their parts guy claims he has had warranty issues with Cobras and they don't really want to push those anymore. Mostly from guys on Apex type machines and marginal snow conditions. I used to run a short track version on my 2s Viper with no problems and a few of my friends run them on Attak's even one has a Super Charger on it with no issues. He said he would go for the Ripsaw II instead.
Any thoughts on the Ripsaw II vs. the Cobra on a 136 Attak? I ride around the Mpls area, northern Wi. and the UP of Michigan. Also I do not do a whole lot of off trail stuff. Mostly groomed trail and an occasional non aggressive venture around the powerlines in the UP.
