So the Attak had a tough season last year. only one trip and with that I only got about 100 miles on it. One issue was it had water in the fuel tank so it sat for a couple of days while I let the HEET work its way through the system. Anyway I started it up over the weekend and it dosent have that Indy car sound it sounds more like a Harley, I changed the plugs and checked the resistance on all the primary and secondary sides of the coils. They all looked good. Primary ohm readings were around 1.5 ohms and the secondary side readings were around 9.1 ohms. So now I'm thinking clogged fuel injector????
Finally here is my question. Is there a way to release the fuel pressure in the fuel rail before I start?
Thanks
Steve

When was the last time the exhaust donuts were changed? When I had an '07, every 4000 miles the sound would deepen, and deepen. (harley-like) Then the occasional backfire, and then I knew it was time for exhaust donuts.
Do the rag test. On a running engine, plug the exhaust pipes, it should kill the engine. If it does not, you have an exhaust leak. If you are getting backfires, then for sure get it fixed. You don't want expensive header issues, and the backfires come right about the same time.
Good luck!

I did the donuts 2 years ago but between work and kids I haven't put many miles on them. That being said I could have not tightened something up. I'll try the rag test tomorrow Thanks for the response!
If you pull the fuel pump relay, then turn on the key, wait a couple of seconds and plug the relay back in while the key is on, you'll basically skip the prime function when you turn the key on.So the Attak had a tough season last year. only one trip and with that I only got about 100 miles on it. I have always had good luck with adding Seafoam Motor Treatment to gas. Put some in the gas and run the motor for a few minutes. Then let it sit for a day or two. The Seafoam will clean the fuel system and injectors and breakdown any gum or deposits left from the old gas. It will also get rid of water in the fuel tank.
I use it to stabilize the fuel in everything I store - sled, bike, car and have never had a problem. I am not trying to sell their product for them - I am just speaking from my own experience.
It may be worth a try before you take everything apart.

You had water in the fuel, yes I see a treatment was added but water in fuel.....problem.
Id start by draining the contaminated fuel from this equation.....

Thanks TopGunn I ran all that fuel out of the sled last season and this year when I stored it I wasn't so freakin lazy and actually filled the tank to the top. (Last year before i wasn't so smart).

I guess im not sure if by Harley like you mean just the exhaust is loud, or does the engine itself sound a little off? Have you checked the ground blocks? My 07 would run funny when I poked around at the ones near the throttle bodies. Long story short they were dirty and giving a crummy ground.
