FYI,
I just got done setting up my 07ER and noticed the riser block is higher than my 06GT's. I measured and sure anough, it is 1" higher on the 07ER. Also the bars have 1/2 inch less rise, and 1 inch more width at the grips with a slightly different bend. When we get our new bars for the 06's (the new grip warmer mod) I wonder if the new bar will have the old 06 bend and contour? Just food for thought. Jay

This has been talked about a few times. The update bars will not be 07 bars for the reasons you just mentioned. They will be exactly like the 06 bar but all one piece. Eric

I had my 06 bars side by side with the new bars i had got from yamaha.. they are the same shape and hight, but are wider by about a inch overall..
