Hey Guys
I bought my wife an 08 LTX-GT Apex and I had it out yesterday.....it has some Dalton clutching, 1.250 ripsaw studded...has great mid range.
But it spins and doesn't transfer well at all....it has the electric shock and I tried it in many positions, but spins horribly even up to 40mph....
I am no stranger to setting up sleds, and drag sleds, but this is our first 4 stroker.....Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

i was running 1.325 studs 144 of them in my Attak ripsaw 1.25, couldn't hook-up for nothing, changing to 1.450 or going with a 1" track with 108 1.175 studs, haven't decided yet

Have you adjusted the transfer rod? That makes a huge difference. I have 192 1.450 studs in mine wth Ulmer Clutching. The sled hooks like a bear...not for the faint of heart. I lost a bit of topend with my gear chage but I have way more fun like it is now.

New to Yami like the name....but own and race drag sleds etc, so I can make adjustments where needed....How about a quick overview on the transfer rod set up, first Yami 4 stroker in the stable....Thanks

The transfer rod is pretty simple. It is the single threaded rod in the center of the skid. The more to lengthen it the more weight transfer you get. Most noticable on acceleration. More transfer means more ski lift. I found I had to play around with it to get what I wanted. Right now unless I really bounce on the back, when I hit the gas my sled lifts the skis about 6 inches and takes off. It settles back after a few sled lengths. There should be a marked rod in your tool kit to help with its adjustment. Its explained in the owners manual. Go here to download my free sevice manual for the Apex.

It is definately not for the faint of heart on a hard packed trail. Grab a handfull of the go flipper and you grin for a long while....

When messing around with the transfer rod how many turns do u recommend at one time, is it very touchy if you turn it a lot or do u need to really crank it up to notice the difference?
