Hello,
I am looking to replace the shock absorber in the rear of my 08 nytro MTX with a gas shock. Is this a good idea?

Also the shock that is in there at the moment is 17.5 CTC. I am hoping to get something a little better so I have the chance to get a Rydefx shock with resivoir that is fully adjustable and rebuildable. But the only thing is this shock is 16.75 inches CTC is that 3/4 inch going to be a issue? Will I be disappointed because of it? Or will I not even notice a difference.

Any advice as soon as possible I only have a few days to make a decsion on it would be awesome.

Thanks everyone I appreciate it everyone.

The shorter shock could be a issue since it obviously wasnt designed for your sled.Length is not all thats important. The collapsed length could be the difference in ruining your skid if its wrong and bottoms out.But even talking about the valving and whether or not it is even close. My advice is to spend the money for a good quality shock that was designed for your sled and you.For me it was the best mod I have done to my sled and I dont regret spending the $ one bit.

Ohlins,Custom Axis,Exit are a few along with revalved OEM adjustable shocks that I would look into.
