Im new to Yamaha and see that thier current promotions run out at the end of the month. The 08 current promotions seem to be a lot less than the 09 promotions and it seems that most manufactures actually give more for the 08's to clear them out. Do you think Yamaha will throw a longer warranty or something on there? what have they normally done. Some dealers are giving great deals on 08 nytro's just want to make sure I don't miss the best deal.

Not many changes in the 09 line up apart from suspension geometry on the FX Nytro front ends. And from what I hear the MTX keeps the same front end as last year, so......

I would imagine that the 08 will clear themselves out for the promotional money off. If you are looking at 08 sleds, I might not dilly dally too long..........

Well, I think I am going to take a chance on the 08's and it is only 2 weeks til the promotions change. I know a dealer that has 5 blues and 3 whites left. They are great deals though.

Most dealers blowing 08s out now. Now or wait until Fall on non currents. In Fall dealers already have taken carrying charge hit so would need help from Yamaha. I would buy non current now.

The place is in Chicago but I have seen them in Kalkaska MI also. Most places have them pretty cheap right now.

The way I look at it is how could a dealer raise a price back up on a left over sled? Don't you think Yamaha will compensate them and/or throw a 4 yr warranty like the 09's? All im looking for is financing and warranty like the 09's are getting at the 08 prices. For instance, Doo gives you a choice of 2 incentive options on 09's but 3 incentive options on 07-08. I think that is more of the way to go. Car dealers give better financing on 07's than 08's also. Does this make sense or am in way off here?

Yamaha has to kick in to move non currents but will not make non current package more attractive than 09 line up during spring 09 promo. I know you want your best deal but do not exspect 4 year warranty on non currents as would take incentive from 09 package. If you want to gamble that Fall or next winter non current pricing will be better that is up to you but warranties will not be thrown in. Non current sled pricing will go up as soon as Yamaha withdraws rebates & they probably will in April to sell 09s. Your not going to get 09 promo perks & pricing on non currents just will not happen as would be bad business for 09 build. Think about it & buy non current before April is my best guess.

Why would yamaha withdraw rebates on non currents that didn't sell? I understand they want to sell new sleds but 9 changes to the front end of the nytro should help sell new sleds. I am willing to take a year old sled that has been improved upon. The closer that sled is to a new sled is price, the longer it will sit in a showroom. Yamaha needs to help dealers get rid of the old sleds to make room for the new sleds. I really don't know why you consider it bad business as Doo does it all the time and are number 1. Don't follow cat and poo that much but know they give great deals too.

The priority to Yamaha after March 31 is to market & sell 09 line up & then build 09s.Yamaha will get back to non current promos in the Fall. The dealers know this & are trying to move non currents ASAP but not in a way that would kill 09 sled sales. Dealers will go with the hot hand & that will soon be 09s thru Yamaha promos. 09 generally BNG year but have improved the Nytro so promo will make the difference. You will not see 4 year warranty on non currents unless you buy YES contract. This has been the pattern. Promos & YES = price X on non currents. Doubtful that would better price than 09 with 48 month warranty promo. Each OEM does their own thing with spring promos at this point then come back in Fall with more incentives to get market going again.
