Hartman makes a tunnel extension to convert it to a tapered one.I have a brand New one I will sell.

OK, sorry for the mess in the Garage, but here are some pics. I cut the running board right behind the CR Drop Brackets. They have a ton of support so no worries about bending.
I used a long Rev bumper to hopefully keep some support. Not to mention it was 5 bucks at the salvage yard.

I don't remember how well they support the actual running board. They are big enough for sure on the tunnel side of life.

Not sure, maybe some one that has installed a set will chime in. Those boards are supposed to offer a ton of support. But after thinking about it, from all the pics I have seen of the Airboards. You would be eliminating the stock running boards, so doing a taper would just compliment the sleds performance.

That's what i was thinking swelly. I hope some one chimes in but i was thinking of doing a longer bumper for support like you.

I am in the process of installing 08 airframes, 2010+ skinz bumper, and a Hartman 153 to 162 extension on an 08. I am still waiting on the extension before I start, but I am hoping to somehow use the bracing that comes with the extension to strengthen the rear of the tunnel. It's more for carrying gas, etc back there. From what I've read you won't need any running board support as the airframes bolt up high at the back making them very rigid.

Air Frames do not require extra support that is not provided by the kit itself.
