Guys....I'm off the APEX and Nytro, and am looking at non-current Vector, brand new. I like the idea of the GT to get the piggybacks, but I can also get the LTX vs the ER. I have a 128" track in my '07 IQ LX CFI, and like the hookup and performance very much. I didn't notice much scrubbed off the top end.

Here's the question:

If I go with the 136" track on the LTX, how much speed/performance do I sacrifice in mid-range throttle response and top end, vs the 121" ER? Assume properly studded track. I'm hearing I can expect some better hookup in the 136", so that should be a plus, but I don't want to sacrifice significant throttle response in mid to top.

TIA. :o| Geez this is the toughest decision ever,

Not much............................My bud rides a rage and I have the stanard vector... His is set-up for top end. He is much faster than I am... :o| MM.

we had radar runs on the weekend, there were about 20 sleds, the fastest stock sled there was a 09 apex ltx,116 mph,STOCK,a shorty rx1 ran 110mph and a shorty apex ran 112,the ltx leaves hard and keeps pulling,we even had an apex with a mpi supercgarger,he ran 120 mph,now that's not very fast for a boosted sled,i think he was running out of room, this was about a 1500 feet track

136" versus !21"

I have a 2006 Vector GT. I rode it the first year as a 121". Then I stretched it and put on a 136" Predator track and geared down one tooth on the top sprocket. And I put on Simmon Gen 1s skis and worked wtih Ulmer Racing on updating my clutching.

My sled was good the first year and better the second. The Simmon skis removed the darting and made the sled wider. On a wide UP trail I saw faster speeds as a 136" than I ever got as a 121". I think conditions were a factor in the speed, but the 136" and gearing down had no significant negative impact. The positive impact was that the sled carried a lot better off trail.

My changes for this year are a 13 mm swaybar, Apex seat and Excel header. I am almost as excited to try these changes as I was riding the sled when it was new.

'09 RS Vector ER

LTX GT '08 Vector was sold a week after I saw it, but I wasn't sure I wanted the long track to begin with. Plus the added weight. I don't do any off trail riding.

Well here we come Yamaha, I pick up the new '09 RS Vector ER next Tuesday, along with 120 studs and 6" Stud Boy Duece Bars. Supposed to be the wifes sled, but something tells me she'll be on the IQ CFI quite a bit in the first few trips out. I'll let you know how it feels when I get on the trail. :jump:

Changed order

Changed my order to the '09 Vector GT - I liked the piggyback clickers too much to give them up with the ER, plus I LOVE the black/silver color on the GT. Supposed to be the wifes sled and thought she would like the white even better, but she didn't care so I switched the order.

I'm normally not this indecisive in most of lifes decisions, but snowmobiling creates some sort of emotional vacuum that disables all logic. :o|

Can't wait to see this thing sitting in the garage. ;)!

I don't know how much she loves sledding, but if you run the Vec in front of her, she'll like the sport even more. My GF never complains about the smell following me, but whenever we pass someone...cough, cough, cough.
