I bought a 2008 vector in the fall, and finally got a chance to drive it yesterday. The machine starts and idles good. If I give it 3/4 throttle from a dead stop it will pull hard and accelerate up to about 70 just fine. If I pinch it to the handlebar from a dead stop, It will accelerate sluggishly and sounds like it's running on two cylinders. Any more than 3/4 throttle and it bogs and accelerates sluggishly. I did run it for 15 miles so I know it was warm. Sled has 11k miles on it, no weird engine noises or warning lights on dash. No backfiring that I can hear.

My plan was to clean carbs, check all the hoses, carb/aircleaner boots, carb slide plungers and replace spark plugs to start.

Anyone have any other ideas that might cause a 3/4 throttle bog?

Is there a guide on carb removal? Looks like I have to remove the windshield and headlight but not sure....

Found the problem

Yes, clean the carbs. I'll guarantee there's ethanol gel/goop/$hit in the bowls and jets.

Ethanol blended gas is TERRIBLE for any carbureted engine.

yup, that would be it.

Wow, nice find! Mine did that for a while and then it corrected its self. I would have been a while finding that.

Thanks for posting

I replaced the spring thinking that was the issue for sure, but it didnt change anything. Then I pulled the carbs and cleaned jets, all circuits with carb clean and chased with compressed air, cleaned emulsion tubes and inspected diaphragms. Didnt find a single spec of dirt in the carbs or anything wrong with them. Issue remained...

out of options I bought a rack of carbs off ebay and 3 new spark plugs, put them in and sled rips now
