08 venture starter problem

Ok so after driving around the lake siteseeing we stop to look over a cabin for sale, go to start the sled and all I get is a whinning like the starter is spinning.

Any ideas?

Certainly could be a number of things, but a fellow I ride with had something similar happen to his 2008 Venture. It turned out that the flywheel bolts had sheared off, the starter was okay, the flywheel was just spinning. I believe the motor had to come out but parts were cheap.

Yep thats what happened,really stinks on a sled with only 400 miles on it.

You might have a starter bearing gone.It will only just wine and not catch.The motor has to come out to replace it.
Mine was covered under warrenty.
