I will not say who, or what the person does for a living..let's just say this source is as good as you can get...trust what I say or don't....I know some of you have seen the teaser ad...this guy...actually rode one..here is the poop:

Sport rider forward

1050 cc triple four stroke..130 plus HP

torsion spring rear, (basically phazer suspenion front and back)

Lighter than the nytro

in his words "one of the fastest accelerating stock snowmobiles he has ever ridden"..he went on and on about how hard this sled pulls..could not believe the low end power..."Stunning"

also said...it would take an apex "a very long stretch to over take it on top"...and this sled will kill an apex out of the hole.

it has NO ENGINE BREAKING...(typical with four stroke yamis) "it's just like a two stroke going into corners"

The best riding/handling yamaha four stroke he has ever ridden in rough stuff....makes the current nytro feel "heavy and dated".

That is all I could get out of him...and believe me...I poked at him for info, like a lawyer at a murder trial...I trust this persons assessment, and know for a fact (100 percent ) that he has ridden the new yamis

BTW....this is from a person...who doesn't care much for 4 strokes.

He also told me the new REV is incredible...."yamaha and ski-doo are leading the way, for the future of snowmobiling"..the new revs are feather light....just over 420lbs...and they improved all the areas people hated.

Sounds to me that yamaha and ski-doo both have a winner for next year.

It all sounds very believable BUT that's all you got out of him??? What's his phone number??????

Good, about time.

Lighter than the nytro

This is the one that worries me. Are we talking 10 lbs lighter? 40? If it's closer to the latter, then this will probably be my next sled in a few years (going to buy used in 2009-2010). If not, then meh.

Very nice.

Also nice. Haven't ridden a 4-stroke yet - going to rectify that March 18th at Old Forge if they have snow!!! But this has always worried me - a little.

Hope there is some truth to all this! :yam:

I kind of like the engine brake effect. Once you get used to it you can use it to you advantage. Other than that, sounds great. I hope the weight is much closer to the Phazer than the Vector. If not, that would ruin it for me. If doo solved the knee and shin clearance problem and the engine has become more reliable, I would have to consider that as well.

I have felt that cat and poo are in trouble for the last several years. Their lack of clean, powerful, and reliable engine technology has really set them back.

I gotta agree with RedRX1...now that I have some miles on my Attak, I really like the engine brake.

Is this new motor based from something Yamaha already produces or is it a brand new design? I gotta imagine it has EFI...that's almost a neccessity on all four strokes now.

With no engine braking, They must have got that from Arctic Cat. Their Jag Z1 doesn't engine brake because of some gear or something like that. I never even seen one of those things on the trails yet.

Also talked with a person who knows. 3 cyclinder 1050 If I recall efi

The plastic on the sides will be black wish it would be blue like the race sled

Also Yamaha sent some guys to look at year old sleds. I talked with one and they ask what your ideal sled is. I said 130hp 500lbs. He said I would be very happy with what is coming.

To qoute one of the magazine guys last year..."I'm so excited I gotta Pee!" I hope its all true. :jump:

I just hope there's a 136 or Mtn. Lite version that has all the good shocks on it.

seriously this guy said it feels waaaayyyy more powerful than a 130 HP sled...he said if he had to guess it would dyno closer to 140 HP..."it would easily stomp the other 600cc two strokes in it's class"...maybe yamaha finally got some ballz, and went for the throat with this sled...can't wait til sunday.

hard to say about the 130 or closer to 140. Doesnt really matter does it? You can have all the hps you want but you have to get it to the track and hook it up for it to matter. Plus I am much more interested in hearing about the torque of this new sled!
