I am really stumped guys, I found two great buys.
One is a 09 XTX and the other is a 08 MTX. Both used but in good condition, rear suspension and track length a side how do the sleds match up. I have read many posts on here on both. I heard that 09's have smother power, better front end and XTX has a different tunnel, stronger? Is it a crap shoot on 08 front ends? Can the fuel map be corrected to be as smooth as a 09?
It is a $1500 dollar difference in price between them, so basically I am asking is the XTX worth $1500 more. Or can I put a $1000 into the 08 MTX and make it just as good or better then the XTX?

Y-BOY,
This is not going to be a trail sled, I am keeping my viper for the trails, trailing arms love the turns at high speed. I'll put the viper up to your RTX on the trails
This sled will be off trail a lot and out west a few times.

I had a 08 MTX and got rid of it last year for a 09 XTX....and have no regrets...I love it....go with the 09 XTX

08 MTX already has the extroverts, enough tunnel room for a big lug track. Is already geared down, has the wide skis and I believe it has a shorter ski stance for deep snow maneuverability. But the running boards are so huge, they really get caught up in the deep snow. When I drove the MTX's out in the Snowies, I don't think the rear suspension was set to full hard on the preload, but they bottomed out really easy. The clutching on the MTX models is so smooth, you don't even feel the clutch engage. The MTX was actually pretty decent on the trails as well compared to the M-series sled I drove this last year at Togwotee.
Don't have much experience with the XTX. But all the little kinks of the 08's are pretty much worked out in 09's supposedly. I would go with the MTX if it is cheaper.
