Looking for clutching recomendations riding deep powder and climbing in deep powder at 10,000ft elev on an 04 rx1 mountain.If this has been covered in a previous thread please post a link.
What are '05 clutch specs' please list weight numbers and spring color?
Is there a Yamaha part number for the 14.5mm rollers.
Thanks in advance
Tim

The '05 Stock RX-1 mtn specs are;
Primary
Weights = 8BU10(45.41 gr.) with 10.3mm(2.4 gr.) rivets in each hole
Spring = Or-Pnk-Or
Rollers = 14.5mm (PN 8CR-17624-00)

Secondary
Spring = White @ 70 deg. twist
Helix = 45

Go here for a link to the Service Manual for the '03 RX-1 sleds. http://putstuff.putfile.com/25672/5491414

I created a zip file and uploaded it to this site for those who want to down load it. It will remain there until Feb. 5th. Just click the next page link until you get to the file.The stock tuning for the '03s was the same as the '04s so this should give you all the stock settings for your sled.

As for a sugestion on a clutch set up for you; start with the '05 specs. You might need to remove some weight though to get the RPMs where you want them.

No problem. :drink: I forgot to add that the gearing recomendation for your riding elevation is 23/40 (from Yamaha) but I would go the other way for boondocking and climbing (21/42).

I picked up all the 05 clutch parts for my sled yesterday.Put in the 8BU10 weights (no rivets)and the 14.5 rollers.Ended up with the Orange pink orange spring.Tried a sliver white silver aswell.But the O-P-O spring prevailed.
The sled now launches pretty hard with the RPM'S right at 10200-10500 on acceleration,with 10700 rpm on the straight-aways.Pulling a hair under 10,000 in the powder. :-o ;)! Thanks to Jim(BlgsRX-1mtn)
