My 2011 was doing it when I first rode it. Whenever I let off the throttle or let off and coasted down a hill than got back on the throttle it would clunk. Now I have over 200 miles I notice it way less. Its from the drive train! I blamed mine on everything being tight and new as its going away now. When I change my oil at 500 miles I'll reset the chain tension. I did check it and it was fine.
My 05 clunked a bit when new when getting on the brakes hard and then back on the throttle. There is always a certain amount of slap in the chain and on off can cause a clunk. For some reason my Apex seemed more prone to it when new.
