I want to stretch my Attak to a 144" but I just found out they don't make tipped rails to go from a 136" to a 144", I want to know what the difference is between the Apex 121" rails and my Attaks 136" rails since I'll most likely just get the shorter rails and buy the 144" tipped rail ext. from Muffin Works, is it just the rails that are different between the 2 suspensions?
thanks
Kyle

on Hartman's website it says nothing about tipped rails so I'm going to assume they don't offer them, thanks for the heads up tho

Are you just after the tip up rails for trail riding. You could just move your skid back. Gives a better attack angle and levels the sled out.

can anyone comment about just swapping the rails and also about the studs rubbing on the sliders that protect the shock

you can switch rails no problem. the only issue i can see is the 121 skid has top wheels on the main shaft that bolts the two back bolts to tunnel. the 136 skids(LTX's) have a small shaft with 2 smaller wheels on top that bolts about 6" back from rear main shaft. as long as you have the clearance with the 121 skid top wheels you have no issue, but 136" rails do not have the tip up. they are flat.

I only want to swap the rails so the wheels on that shaft won't be an issue, thanks for your input

Won't OFT or Muffinworks custom make a set from 136" to 144" tip up? It's only 4"....

I didn't ask but I'm sure if they were going to make some they would have already

Both companies will do custom work and I'm sure they could accomodate you if you needed. Other wise Hartman's sell a 136" to 144" rail extension, but I don't think he does tip up. While I'm not a huge fan of them, the other option is Tracks USA if nobody else can get you a the rails. They may do tip up rails for your application also.

We currently don't have a 4" extension design available. This may be something we come up with this summer. But it's not readily available at this time.
With regards to a 4" tipped extension, my guess is you are going to have a hard time finding anyone who has it available (outside of doing custom work). Here would be the reason why ....
Let's use the 6 deg tip on the XTX as a standard. When going from 121 to 144, this tip raises the back wheel up about 1.2" (almost a full lug height of a 1.25" track). On a 136" stretch, it raises the wheel about 0.78" ... not as much. And on a 128" stretch, it will only raise the wheel 0.42". Which is my opinion is probably not going to give you any advantage over a typical 4" extension that is of a straight design.

What if you designed a 136" to 144" (4") extension with say a 15 degree tip up? I'd say about an inch rise is what guys want. How much for something custom like that from Muffinworks? I think that'd be a great seller for you guys.

I have studs in line with the track guide and some studs came loose and ripped it off completly. worked fine untill they came loose. You should be fine but keep an eye on them.
