12v power

I just installed a 12v power port on my 09 Nytro and was just wondering if the sled has to be running to have power to the port?

If you plugged into the factory harness yes.

Yeah I'm plugged into the factory harness. I keep my sled at work in the trailer and hooked it up quick before I had to leave and only got as far as hitting it with the test light quick with key off and with the key on to activate the gauges and didn't get the test light to come on. I never fired up the sled so I figured as much but wanted to ask. Thanks for the reply.

If a person wanted to wire in a power port in an 08, which wires would be best for that. I thought I read somewhere that 09 & up has an actual plug, but the 08 doesn't.

I did a quick search because when i was looking for info on installing a 12v on mine I knew I ran across some info on the 08's. Check out this thread for some info.
