What is the total cost to stretch a '08 Nytro from a 121 to a 136? Hard difficult is it to do this?

Depends on which kit, what track, and if you do the work yourself.. 500-1000 is the general ball park.

If you buy a used track you can likely do it for 500..

Thanks

I can do the work myself. I have been messing with the idea. I have two Nytro 121s now. I want to either stretch one our get rid of one and get an XTX.

We want to go out to the Bighorns to ride in March and my 14 year old son can't rent so we would have to trailer one for him to ride and I'm not sure how well the 121 would do out there.

Ideas?????

Any suggestions on kits and track ideas to make one of the 121s into a 136????

I am currently stretching mine. I got the oft kit, so 350+ new cobra track for 485. Plus your time. So you are looking at just under a grand. I hope it was worth it lol!

Oft kit was so easy to install, and shipped very quickly. If you want to go a little cheaper, try Hartman which are good, but no tip up. I believe muffin works also had the kits.

I stretched mine out to 136". I think the Kit from Tracksusa.com was about $750 bucks, with a new Cobra track.

Its all very easy. Grind the rivets on the rails to replace with the rail extension/bolts. Same for the tunnel extension. Drill out the factory rivets and put the tracksusa tunnel extension in. The tracksusa tunnel extension is the cleanest extension I've seen. It looks 100% factory with no gaps or anything if you install it right.

I took it out west as a 136" also. It did pretty good with a 2" track. I had 6" Simmon skis as well, and I would say that you want at least 6" wide skis on it.

If you are just going to use it as a 136" for going out west, I would look for a used 2" track that is notched for the heat exchanger/tunnel protectors. Then you don't have to remove them.

I'll be extending mine to a 141 using OFT's kit this week, keep a eye on my "what to do to this one" thread for pictures.

OFT and you will want to do the second machine as soon as you ride the first. Track selection is the tricky part. I'd go 1.375" next time.

Have you considered a 128" extension? All you need is a different track ( I went with a used 128"X1 3/8 cobra) and rail extensions, no messing with the tunnel or bumper. I just got done doing mine cost me about $280 for everything. Probably won't be enough of a stretch for any type of mountain riding though.

i just (like as in right before i typed this) did an OFT 136" extension and i can tell you Scott's stuff fits like a glove and is by far the best quality i have seen on a track extension! I have also been to OFT and seen his operation and it is an amazing place (he's local to me) plus the customer support is among the best in the industry!

Now if mother nature would stop toying with us mid western folks and just dump the white stuff already i would be a happy guy!

go 144" extension and you can pick up a stock XTX track cheap...guys are dropping 1.25" ripsaws left and right

LSXM3,

What did the whole kit end up costing with the track? What track did you end up adding? Did the kit come with the tunnel extender too?

Thanks for the info.

I am stoked this thread is active. I honestly was going to post this same thing tonight. Looking at OFTs 141 and wondering about the tunnel extender as well. Also whats a good recommended track & lug? Cobra's 2"(notched) & 1.375" have been mentioned, any other opinions?

Before I looked at this, I looked at a 2012 XTX and they want so much for one. Since my Nytro is paid for, I could not stomach the lost on selling it and buying the XTX.

Looking forward to hearing what others have done and thecist involved. I have a good friend who races the Nytro and has removed the track a few times so the installation should not be an issue.
