I have an 07 Attak and I am looking for more off trail performance. Should I just change to a taller 136" track(1.5 or 1.75") or should I extend it to 144 and put on a 1.5" track? I am considering extroverts as well, what size should I put on and will clutching/gearing changes be necessary? Thanks guys

What do you want to accomplish? Better off trail perf? Or just more on trail hookup? I have 136 1.5 Camo Intense with Doo extro's 23/39 gears stock clutching. I lost asome top end, but acceleration is what I must say is "brisk"

the attak won,t do it in the powder...sell it & buy a nytro xtx with a big azz track. been der dun dat & spent huge $$$$ to fix that shizz!

Turk when you say that you have done it was it with a 136 or 144? and how is the nytro so much better? As im in the same boat as Sask Attak, i now know that i want a 1.75 back country track but unsure of 136 or 144 for off trail and ditch banging

To further emphasize what Turk means is the Attak has a steep approach angle between the drive axle and the front of the skid, and it causes trenching. The sleds weight doesn't help either. The skis are too skinny also. If you install 7" wide skis and a 1.5 x 144 it may do OK in the powder, but just OK. Much more than 1.5" paddle and you'll need to switch to 8 pitch drivers. By the time you get done will all the parts needed, assuming your doing the work, you would financially be better off with the Nytro XTX and happier. Turk has good advice. With that being said, my sled is a great trail weapon, couldn't be happier,,,,,until a 180hp Apex comes out!

I have an 08 Apex LTX GT and went to a 1.5 Cross Country Track in 144 and put Slydog Powderhounds on - it was ok off trail but still not good. I am thinking about getting rid of it to try a Nytro.

Mine does fine in the UP pow. If it were dryer and fluffier like out west it would prob have some issues.
I kept the 136 and give it an 1.5" track, C&A XT's keep the front end up. I have a ball with it :)

i ran my attak last winter with the 136x1.5 ripsaw and the nytro mtx with the 153x1.75 just playing around in the power the attak was as good if not better than the nytro but not as good on the hills plus the attak is supercharged so i guess thats not very fair. I think i'm going to go with the 144x1.5 this year on the attak but not a ripsaw i think the 144 is better allround and i'll just throw in that i like the attak chassis better than the nytro chassis but i know the xtx is going to be better than last years nytro either way you can't go wrong both those sleds are great. oh yes and wider skis are a must on the attak for off trail riding the stock skis are crap.

Just installed a 1.5 X 136 backcountry with Extroverts and Apex mtn ski's. Waiting for snow to try it. If nothing falls locally I will be in Valemount Dec 19 - 22. It had better perform or someone can buy the charred, smoking remains :die as I've pretty much had it with this money pit. :o|
