Thinking about changing from the stock 136" track to a 144"on my 06, will this help the trenching? I don't want to go to a 151"!

The biggest part of trenching is caused by the steep approach angle of the Yamaha suspensions. If you want to stop it from trenching, you'll want to reduce the approach angle. And yes, adding more track will increase the flotation, so reduced trenching there as well.

If you want the ultimate 144" setup, you want to get some 136" skid that is compatible with relocation (ie, ExpertX --- your stock suspension can NOT be safely relocated), and set it back 4" with a 144" track.

Rage,
Please take a moment to update your profile with your location as this is a site requirement.

Thanks

Now that the moderator thing is out of the way......

LB is very much correct. I took my EC Mono out of my new 07 Attak, sold it and put my 136" Expert in with a 4" set back running the crossover 144X1.5" track. The sled really rocks now. Of course the blower may have something to do with that, tho. lol

Anyway, here's a pic of my sled with the set back...notice my approach angle....almost gone. It's right around 25 degree. I haven't measured the angle yet, but I can so you can compare the two?

What would a person look at to qualifiy a suspension for compatibility when looking at the various options available?

I'm about to set-back my 136 to 144"... where does one move the mounting holes "back" to? Straight, follow the tunel angle???
