Just wondering if the clutching changes to smooth out the engagement and slow speed riding is the culprit for my loss in top end? I know the 1.75 back country is a killer for top speed but I think I have something else going on!

I'm not sure about the rollers but I was told by a very reputable shop that stiffer clutch sprins aren't the best thing if you are trying to achieve better topend...I'm sure the track is the bigger culprit.

I guess I have a lot going on...I changed the track and dropped the gearing at the same time, then I added the rollers and spring.
Before the changed I was seeing 100 + mph, 115mph was the best I saw(ideal conditions) now I am seeing 85 mph. I guess the track and gearing changes are the biggest factors.

you failed to mention the bolded....dropping a tooth and adding the big lug track are sure to be the issues, not the clutching

OK thanks, just seems like it hits a wall at 80 now, I miss the top end...but I guess you can't have it all. I know I had fun in the 4 feet of powder we were riding in last weekend, would not have been able to do that before the 1.75 track!

I have the same gearing and track with the stock rollers and I just touch 100 mph on long runs but go over 80 quite easily

with your gearing and track you should be seeing 95-100mph, 0-90 should be very quick then creep up from there... The Gearing Calculator for a 20/39 setup says your top speed with out overdrive would be 100mpg with overdrive calculated in it would be 111... now those are in perfect conditions with the moon and stars aligned but I would look at your clutch setup because 80mph is way slow with the gearing, and track you have.
I have the bc track, stock gearing (21/39) and see 97mph during a long pull. Im hoping the 20/39 setup is going to get me closer to what the clutching and gearing is capable of...

My rpms are 9000-9050, I did tighten the secondary spring, my rpms were up around 9200. I know this is not the correct way to drop rpm so I am going to put it back to factory setting.
radianguy, what are you running in the secondary?
