If you go out to the general area apparently the viper is the worst sled ever built, even worse than the first Indy 500! However, I LOVE mine, 3800 miles and going strong. No major issues, did the recalls and had a muffler crack other than that just like anything, if you take care of it it'll take care of you. And you don't need to change the skis just get a set of woodys slim Jim's.

OK thanks everyone for the input and would love to do exhaust but there pretty strict about noise where I ride
I bought one for my wife because it was her body weight lighter than the Rage she was driving.
I liked it so much I bought one for my self. The seating position ride and handling are vastly better than Nytro.
You will be disappointed with the performance compared to the Nytro, but Hurricane has a power up kit that works very well and if you talk to Dave him self maybe you can buy it without the muffler at a saving.
The kit going back to stock muffler looks stock, sounds stock, but gives you a very good 10% increase in HP, and will get you back to Nytro HP and a bit.

We bought my wifes 7000 used and so far no real issues. 3500 miles. The hot start we experienced once and I feel it may be a throttle position sensor deal. We experienced the over heat kick in engine issue but had the fan reversed and the front tunnel heat exchanged iced up. I feel that is an icing issue rather than fan reverse. Darting was taken care of by woodys duely wear bars. Amazing how well they work. The starter gear I am not sure of. We have had no problems as of yet but I instructed my wife to hold the key well past engine start, wont hurt it. She loves the sled performance, handling and ease of use. I have done alot of add ons to enhance, clutch kit, muffler, 4 wheel kit and so on. Great sled performance is where it is supposed to be 700cc two stroke class with much better mileage.
